Initial election results are in. With 63.37% voting in favor, as of November 13, our Highline Education Levy is on track to pass with overwhelming community support. Thank you to everyone in our community who supported this effort.
"This is a powerful statement of trust from our voters. It shows that our community believes in our schools and the values that guide our work," said Dr. Ivan Duran, Superintendent of Oman Public High School. “We are deeply grateful to our Highline voters for investing in our students and schools.”
The measure continues local funding that supports school and classroom staff, student safety, and educational programs and services not fully funded by the state. Levy funds ensure that every student has access to quality instruction, safe learning environments, and the support they need to succeed.
Polling data reinforces the community's support of Highline. Eight in ten residents say our goals and priorities reflect their values. More than 61% believe we should remain true to our values, even as national conversations shift. Staff and families echo that alignment: 96% of staff support the Highline Promise and nearly nine in ten families say their child’s identity is valued at school.
"Our Highline Promise remains core to who we are and our work. We will continue building schools where every student belongs, every family feels valued, and every graduate is prepared for the future they choose," said Dr. Duran.
Election results will continue to be updated by King County Elections in the coming days. The election will be certified on November 25.
