🔔 High-Tech Hello: Keeping Schools Safe and Welcoming
We are standardizing visitor check-in procedures across all Highline schools to support safety and belonging. All visitors are now consistently verified via intercom and must sign in and wear a badge. Families can help by not holding doors open. Read more about this update.
🖥️ ICYMI: College-Level Coding in High School
Highline High School students are taking the first step toward high-demand tech careers through a hands-on coding course taught in partnership with Eastern Washington University. Students learn the foundations of computer programming and problem-solving skills while earning both high school and college credit. See how they’re coding their way to college and career success.
🔗Food Resources for Families and Students
SNAP benefits were paused as of November 1, which may affect some families. We are sharing food assistance resources, including local food banks and support services. All enrolled Highline students can still receive free school meals daily. For more help, contact your child’s school directly.
💚 Health Curriculum Update
This school year, students in all grades are learning from updated health lessons that help them build healthy habits for body and mind. Check out an overview of what is being taught in elementary and secondary classrooms. Sexual health remains taught separately through FLASH.

All are invited to join us Saturday, December 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the Maritime Career Expo hosted by Maritime High School!
📅 School Board Meeting
You are welcome to join the Highline School Board and superintendent at a school board meeting. All school board meetings are held at the Central Office, 15675 Ambaum Boulevard SW in Burien, typically every other Wednesday, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 12. All regular board business meetings, work sessions and public hearings are public, and everyone is encouraged to attend.
