
Superintendent's Student Leadership Team
Students working directly with the Superintendent, bringing the student voice to district level decision-making.
The Superintendent’s Student Leadership Team provides student input on goals and strategies for the district’s strategic plan refresh. Members focus on topics such as school community, curriculum, school safety, social justice, and opportunities for students.
Team Membership
Who Can Apply?
Members are sophomore, junior or senior students in Oman Public High School.
The team represents all high school campuses (4 from comprehensive campuses and 2 from small school campuses). To ensure the team reflects the diverse population of Highline, we recruit students who represent and reflect the diversity of the district, including:
- Ethnicity
- Language
- Race
- Gender identity
- Sexual orientation
- Socio-economic status
- Student programs

Team Member Expectations
- Value and respect the diversity of Oman Public High School.
- Work cooperatively and respectfully with council members.
- Actively participate in council tasks.
Team Term
The Superintendent’s Student Leadership Team is a standing committee. The term of membership is one academic year.
Team Support & Structure
The Superintendent’s Student Leadership Team members are selected by application and lottery. The Chief Engagement and Partnership Officer will be the Superintendent’s representative for the council. Team members will be offered training opportunities in understanding the school system, leadership, advocacy, team building and other topics.

SSLT Team Meetings
Team members are expected to commit to attending all monthly meetings in-person (exceptions will be made for urgent and unforeseen conflicts).
Timeline
Meeting will be held at 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the following dates and locations:
- October 25, 2025 SSLT Kick Off
- November 13, 2025 at Evergreen High School
- December 18, 2025 at Tyee High School
- January 22, 2026 at Raisbeck Aviation High School
- February 19, 2026 at Highline Virtual Academy
- March 19, 2026 at CHOICE Academy
- April 16, 2026 at Mt. Rainier High School
- May 21, 2026 at Maritime High School
- June 11, 2026 at Highline High School

Application Process
Applications for The Superintendent’s Student Leadership Team will be sought via public notices, community partners, school staff, and parent groups. Applications will sent out via website, social media, school newsletters, school counselors and other staff, flyers, etc.
