Substance Use

This October, during Substance Use Prevention Month, all of our schools are taking part in prevention activities that focus on building knowledge, community, and support. Together, we’re reminding students: your health and your future matter. To learn more click here

Substance misuse happens when drugs or alcohol are used in ways that harm a person’s health, well-being, or success in school. For students, it can disrupt learning, relationships, and future goals.

In Highline, we’re committed to supporting students and families with resources, guidance, and support. Our focus is on prevention, education, and personalized support to help students make healthy choices that lead to lifelong success.

Students may turn to substances like nicotine, alcohol, or marijuana for many reasons—curiosity, peer pressure, stress, or personal struggles. We understand that there’s often more going on beneath the surface.

If you or your student need support, please reach out to your school counselor and explore the resources below.
